It is a difficult question but I’d say the E28 is now a collector’s item and probably should be treated as such.
Arguably the first M5 is by far the purest one but it is quite raw too. The E34 is, however, the best all-rounder.
Both seriously nice, solid cars, unlike what came later.

I drive this in FH3 because it’s the closest I can find to my non-M e90. Similar size, weight, power, NA straight 6, rwd, 4dr. (They won’t let me detune the e90 M3 with a NA straight 6)
